What a Weekend at Trinity!!

On Saturday, September 28th, we kicked off our 62nd Anniversary Celebration in style, and what a celebration it was! The atmosphere was electric, with hearts full of emotion as we praised God through powerful worship, vibrant music, and heartfelt messages that will stay with us for years to come. The sanctuary was alive with the Spirit, and our Thanksgiving service was a call to action urging us to look to the future, draw the circle wide, and boldly embrace all people, especially those who face oppression, the “nones,” the young, and the vulnerable among us. The message hit home: our aim is to create a multidisciplinary community that serves our neighbors and responds to God’s call with love and courage.

The highlight of the day came as we gathered for fellowship around a delicious banquet, lovingly prepared and served by our friends at Titusville UMC. This time of celebration was filled with laughter, stories, and remembrances as we reflected on the incredible journey that brought Trinity to where it is today. One of the most touching moments was when we honored the founding members of Trinity with heartfelt tributes—a beautiful reminder of the strong foundation that was laid 62 years ago.

But what truly made the day unforgettable was the incredible turnout. Not only were many Trinity members present, but we were joined by an amazinggroup of community partners and supporters. Representatives from Interfaith Caregivers, The Maker’s Place, the Eastern Service Workers Association, Mayor Bert Steinmann’s office, The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) and student organizations, Wilf Care, Stein Hospice, the Greater New Jersey Annual Conference of the UMC, Pennington UMC, Princeton University, Princeton Theological Seminary, and even our local Fire Department came together to celebrate with us. We could truly feel the sense of unity and shared mission as we all celebrated that Trinity is not only still here, but here to stay, continuing to serve our community and beyond for years to come.

Then came Sunday, September 29th—a day we’ll never forget. We had the incredible honor of hosting none other than Francisco Vera Manzanares, the young international eco-activist who has taken the world by storm. Fresh off speaking engagements at the United Nations, the World Bank, Columbia University, and Princeton Theological Seminary, Francisco graced us with a powerful message about stewardship and our sacred responsibility to care for God’s creation. His words were a wake-up call, reminding us that all of creation is an expression of God’s love, and we are called to be its caretakers. It was an awe-inspiring moment for all of us, and we were so honored to be part of his journey.

To everyone who celebrated with us, supported these events, and continues to stand by our mission: thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Together, we are saying loud and clear that Trinity is ready to keep doing God’s work, and we’re just getting started!

Warmly,

Rev. David Gaitan – Pastor
