Sin duda alguna, uno de los nombres más hermosos de Jesús es ‘Emanuel’, Dios con nosotros. No dejo de maravillarme al poder acercarme a comprender lo escandaloso de un Dios, quien no nos pidió ‘divinizarnos’, pues reconoció nuestra incapacidad de ello; sino que más bien se hizo humano.
Without any doubt, one of the most beautiful names of Jesus is ‘Immanuel’, God with us. I never cease to marvel at being able to come closer to understanding the scandalous nature of a God, who did not ask us to ‘divinize’ ourselves, because recognized our inability to do so; but rather, the Divine became human. That same God taught us in his life that the broad path is hatred and that excellence is in love.

María | Gracias sean dadas a Dios por fijar sus ojos en aquella virtuosa mujer, quien abrazó al niño en su vientre y lo condujo con amor, dedicación y esperanza. Por su linaje vino la salvación al mundo, convirtiéndose de esta manera en ejemplo a seguir para miles de generaciones; no sólo por ser portadora de buenas noticias en el fruto de su interior, sino por sus acciones y fe en Dios, las cuales fueron magnificadas por el bendito Padre del cielo.
Mary | Thanks be to God for fixing their eyes on that virtuous woman, who embraced the child in her womb and led him with love, dedication, and hope. Through her lineage, salvation came to the world, thus becoming an example to follow for thousands of generations; not only for being the bearer of good news in the fruit within her, but for her actions and faith in God which were magnified by the gracious Father in heaven.
En el principio era el Verbo, quien era la Palabra de Dios y quien no solamente estaba con Dios, sino que era Dios mismo; un misterio eterno que nos habla de la relación más completa y hermosa de todas, el amor.
In the beginning was the Word, who was not only with God, but was God; an eternal mystery that tells us about the most complete and beautiful relationship of all, love.
Uno de los temas que más ha ocupado las agendas de diálogo político y filosófico, es el de la paz. Durante muchos años, el ser humano ha intentado definirla, pero sobre todo, traerla a la práctica. Estos son en primera instancia muy buenos intentos que de alguna manera han logrado que los hombres y mujeres procuremos caminar en vía contraria a la violencia.
As we are getting into the Advent season, we can take this opportunity to reflect on the meanings of a God who decides to become as a human being and embody the Word (John 1). Perhaps, we can read that Word incarnate through the life that was lived by Jesus, the carpenter of Galilee.
