The Spirit keeps Moving in Ewing

It is not hard to see how much our world is struggling with hate and division. Sadly, this is something we face every day. But even in the middle of all this, the Spirit keeps moving, bringing people together in love and unity. That is exactly what is happening here in Ewing between Trinity UMC, Ewing Covenant Presbyterian Church, and Abiding Presence Lutheran Church.
Our three churches have always had a good relationship, but now, with new pastors leading each community, it feels like a fresh start. Rev. Kathleen Jones (Abiding Presence), Rev. Morgan Valencia (ECPC), and I (Trinity UMC) are excited to walk together, strengthening the ties between our congregations and serving our town in new ways.
This year, we are already finding opportunities to collaborate, from keeping working on a shared campus ministry for TCNJ students to coming together for a joint Good Friday service. We are also looking forward to working as one in our community events, like our Easter Egg Hunt, where we can bring joy to local families and remind people that faith is meant to be lived in fellowship.
But this is more than just events—it’s about showing that unity is possible. It’s about reminding each other that love is greater than division. We are three different churches, but we are one in Christ, and we are here to work together for the good of our community.
I invite you to keep us in your prayers as we take these steps together. May God guide us as we grow in faith, love, and friendship.
Warmly,
Rev. David Gaitan – Trinity UMC, Ewing
